4. What does it mean that God is holy? Consider the following passages and comment on the holiness of God: 1 Samuel 2:2; Isaiah 6:1-3; 57:15; Revelation 4:8. How does God’s holiness set Him apart from all other things?

5. Read 1 Peter 1:13-21 and list at least 3 observations from the text. What does the word “therefore” in 1 Peter 1:13 point to in the previous section? Why is it just and proper for Peter to encourage us to be obedient children?

6. Explain the meaning of God calling us to holiness? Explain how our election is related to holiness and blamelessness (cf. Ephesians 1:3-4). How should the idea that we are “chosen ones, holy and beloved” impact our lives (cf. Colossians 3:12-13)? What impresses you about 2 Timothy 1:8-9?

9. Read Psalm 139:23-24 and use it as a prayer to God. Has God shown you anything you need to change in your life? Are you willing to obey God?
