1. If you could not hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read Psalms 115:3; 135:6; Isaiah 46:9-10; Job 42:2: Matthew 10:29. How would you define the sovereignty of God?

3. After listening to today’s teaching on some of the areas that God is in control over, which one encouraged you the most? Explain how you were encouraged and strengthened from Scripture to trust in God’s sovereignty in this area.

4. Read Genesis 1:27; 2:7, 21-22; Job 33:4; Isaiah 42:5; Psalms 139:13-16; 1 Samuel 1:5, 20. What makes human life so unique and special? What are your thoughts on God’s control of human conception?

5. Read Genesis 3 and explain the fall of man and the consequences of the fall. What are your thoughts on human suffering existing because of original sin? What are some areas of suffering God may cause His children to go through? What would be His purpose?

6. Read Jeremiah 10:12-13; 14:22; Psalms 135:7, 147:8, 15-18; Amos 4:7; Job 1:18-22, 37:11-13; Mark 4:35-41. What are your thoughts on God’s control over the weather? How has reading God’s word about His control over the weather strengthened your faith?

7. Read 2 Kings 2:23-24, 17:25; 1 Kings 13:24, 20:36; Daniel 6:22; Numbers 22:28-30; Jonah 1:17. What are your thoughts on God’s control and use of animals in the Bible?

8. Read Genesis 50:15-21; Matthew 26:47-56; Acts 2:22-23; Acts 4:23-31; Isaiah 53:10. What are your thoughts on God’s control over the evil actions of sinful man? What was God’s purpose for allowing evil to prevail in the life and death of Jesus Christ? How did it make you feel, when you read the Scriptures that said it was God’s hand, His plan, and that He predestined the evil actions of sinful man to crucify and kill Jesus Christ?
