1. If you could not hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Why do you think Manoah attempted to prepare a meal for the angel of the Lord? Does it seem inappropriate that the angel of the Lord refused the meal?

3. Read Leviticus 1:1-3. What was the purpose of the burnt offering? Why do you think the angel of the Lord told Manoah to offer a burnt offering to the Lord?

4. Why didn’t Manoah and his wife recognize the angel of the Lord’s identity? How does their reaction compare with that of Gideon in Judges 6? What should be our attitude when we meet with the Lord?

5. What is the significance of the angel associating the word wonderful with His name (cf. Isaiah 9:2-7; 28:29)? What does it mean that the Lord is wonderful? Describe some ways in which the Lord is wonderful to you?

6. Explain what it means that the knowledge of God is too wonderful for us (cf. Psalm 139:1-6). Can you say that you have knowledge of God; that you know Him? List some specific things that God knows about you that you don’t know yourself. Describe a person who knows you well and how that makes you feel.

7. Read the following passages and describe what it means that God’s Word and deeds are wonderful: Psalm 119:129; 9:1; 139:13; Isaiah 25:1. Describe why the religious leaders of Jesus’ day responded to His wonderful works the way they did (cf. Matthew 21:15)?

8. Read the following passages and describe what it means that God’s dealings with us are wonderful: Joel 2:24-26; Psalm 103:10; Isaiah 29:13; Psalm 31:21. Describe some ways in which God has been wonderful to you.

9. What are some ways in which we can teach our children that God is wonderful? What are some specific things about God that we should share with our children to help them grow in wonder of God? Provide any input you have on the following passages: Psalm 78:4; 107:8; 1 Chronicles 16:8.
