1. If you were not at this week’s service, consider going to the church website and listening to the sermon. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read the following passages: Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:1-4; Mark 1:35; Romans 8:26-27; Philippians 4:6-7; 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18. How would you define prayer? List at least three important elements that should be contained in our prayer?

3. Read Acts 1:14 and Acts 2:42. What does it mean to be devoted to someone or something? What types of things are worthy of devotion? What things are you devoted to that are not heavenly minded? Do you assess your prayer life as being “devoted”?

4. Read Acts 1:12-14. How would you define corporate prayer based on these verses? How many people does it take for prayer to be considered corporate? Does Macedonia have corporate prayer? Explain.

5. Read Acts 4:23-31. Have you ever felt the need to pray for boldness to proclaim the Gospel in the face of opposition? What were the results of your prayer? Describe your experience with proclaiming the Gospel.

6. Read Acts 12:1-17. Do you struggle with trusting God through prayer? Do you have doubts as to prayer’s efficacy? How did the people who gathered at Mary’s house struggle with trusting in prayer? While they were doubting, what was the reality as to the result of prayer? Give some examples of serious prayer requests that would prompt you to gather for corporate prayer?

7. Read Acts 13:1-4. Describe the importance of fasting and prayer to you? Have you ever spent time in fasting and prayer? What were the results of your fasting and prayer? 8. Describe an experience in corporate prayer that stands out to you? Why is corporate prayer important? Is corporate prayer more important than individual prayer? Explain.
