Life Group Questions

1. If you could not hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read Judges 15 and make some observations. What stands out to you in the text? Before we started studying Samson’s character in the Scriptures, what were your opinions and thoughts on Samson?

3. Compare and contrast previous Judges (Gideon, Deborah, etc.) with Samson. What is different about Samson (his attitude, actions, relationship with the Lord, etc.)? What are some things you can admire about Samson’s character? What are some character traits that you despise about his character?

4. Who is Samson identified as in verse 6? What is significant about this thought? What connections can we make concerning Samson’s new identity?

5. In this chapter we see Samson’s “superhero” type character come out. What do you notice regarding the Lord in these examples? Which ones were the Lord in, and which ones were based on Samson’s questionable character?

6. How important is it for believers to “call upon the Lord?” Look at the following passages and make note of this idea: Psalm 105:1, Numbers 21:7, 1 Samuel 12:7, Jonah 2:1-2.

7. We are currently in the season of “Thanksgiving.” How significant is the thought for believers to “acknowledge” what the Lord has done and is doing in their lives? Consider the following passages: Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 32:1-5.

8. God is so gracious to us. How do you see the grace of God extended to Samson in our text? Think about your own life and reflect upon the idea of the grace of God that has been extended to you (c.f. Ephesians 2:8-9, 4:7).
