Life Group Questions

1. If you were not able to hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What obstacles did David face in life and on the battlefield? What are some obstacles and challenges we face in life (cf. James 1:2-5; 2 Timothy 3:1-7; 1 Peter 1:5-6)?

3. What does it mean that the Lord is with us? Describe how the Lord is with us. Is the Lord with us like He was with David, or was that different (cf. Psalm 23:4; 27:1-3; Hebrews 13:5-6; Matthew 28:19-20)?

4. Describe how the Lord equips each believer for the battlefield of life (cf. Hebrews 13:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 5:8-11). How has the Lord equipped you; what are some of the specific gifts He has given you (cf. Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 3:5-10; 12:4-11)? Are you using your God-given gifts well? Explain.

5. What was it about Goliath that most upset David? Why is the reputation of God’s glory so important (cf. Psalm 19:1; 24:7-10; 115:1; 145:10-13)? What are some ways in which we can bring God glory (1 Corinthians 10:31)?
