1. If you could not hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Describe some thoughts that come to mind when you think about the judgment of God. As Christians, should our thoughts of God as Judge be positive or negative? Explain.

3. What gives God the right to judge (cf. Genesis 18:25; Judges 11:27; Psalm 50:6; Isaiah 66:1)? How does God’s ability and authority to judge differ from ours? What exactly does God judge and on what basis is His judgment exercised?

4. Do you believe that the wrath of God is being revealed today? If so, how (cf. Romans 1:18; John 3:35-36)? How should the idea of God’s wrath impact and influence Christians?

5. Describe the nature of the final judgment event for the lost and saved (cf. Daniel 12:1-3; Hebrews 9:27; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Should Christians be concerned about the final judgment? Why or why not?

6. Read Matthew 24:36-44 and list at least five observations and/or applications.

7. Read the following passages: Colossians 3:5-6; Ephesians 5:3-6; John 5:24. Take time to pray and ask God to forgive you of sins committed in these areas. Ask the Lord to help you avoid committing sins of this nature.

8. How does Judges 20:34 relate to Judges 16:20? Do you think the writer intends for us to associate these two passages/events with one another? Explain it’s theological significance.

9. The Israelites were said to have set up an ambush against the Benjaminites (cf. 20:29). In what ways do Christians need to be careful of ambushes (cf. 1 Peter 5:8; Matthew 7:15-16; 1 John 4:1). Describe a time when you felt ambushed.

10. What are we to make of the writer’s comment that God Himself defeated the Benjaminites (cf. 20:35)? Was God unfaithful, unkind, unloving or unjust for His actions against the Benjaminites? Explain your thoughts.
