1. If you could not hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read our passage and provide at least three points of observation about the characters, the setting and the writer’s emphasis.

3. Does it surprise you that Samson was guilty of involvement with a prostitute? How does this activity impact your opinion of his ministry? Why do you think God continued to use a person like Samson who had so many faults? Do you ever struggle with your own qualification to be used by God? Explain.

4. Why do you think Samson was so blind to the true character of the women he had relationships with? What does Samson’s choice of women indicate about his own character and shortcomings? What lessons should we learn about relationships from Samson?

5. What does it mean that Samson revealed his heart to Delilah? Why does the writer tell us that Samson loved Delilah and how does that information explain some of the story? What are some ways in which we need to guard our heart and affections?

6. Read the following Scripture and provide feedback: Romans 6:12; 13:13-14; Galatians 5:24; 1 John 1:6-7. What are some areas in your own spiritual life in which you need improvement?

7. Describe what it means to be called of God? Do you believe God still calls people? What sense of responsibility comes with the calling of God (cf. Ephesians 4:1; 1 Corinthians 1:2; James 1:27; 2 Corinthians 6:17-18; 1 Peter 2:11; Hebrews 12:1-2)?

8. What does it mean that God’s grace is greater than our sin? What are some ways in which God’s grace has shown itself greater than your sin (cf. Psalm 130:1-3; Romans 5:20-21; John 1:16-17)?
