1. If you could not hear this week’s teaching, consider going to the church website and listen to it. What main ideas did you gain from the teaching?

2. Before you heard this teaching on the sovereignty of God, what were some of your thoughts about God’s sovereignty? How would you have described the sovereignty of God?

3. Read the verses where the word “sovereign” is translated into English: Acts 4:24, 1 Timothy 6:15, Revelation 6:10. Do some research on the word “sovereign” and record what you discover.

4. Read the following verses and pick out some of the titles that reveal God’s sovereignty. Psalm 47:2; Jeremiah 10:10; Deuteronomy 10:17; 1 Timothy 6:15; Revelation 19:16.

5. Read the following verses and record a list of characteristics that describe God’s sovereignty. Psalm 115:3; Isaiah 46:9-10; Job 42:2; Daniel 4:35; 1 Chronicles 29:11.

6. Read Psalms 93:1, 97:1 and 99:1. What does it mean that “the Lord reigns?” What does He reign over? What does this mean?

7. Now that you have looked into the meaning of sovereignty and seen some examples of God’s sovereignty in other’s lives, how does this change your outlook on difficult situations in your life if you are a believer? 8. As you think about the sovereignty of God, name some people or situations from Scripture that reveal how God was completely in control from the beginning to the end. Would you be able to place your name on the list? Explain your testimony of God’s sovereignty in your salvation.
