1. If you were not at this week’s service, consider going to the church website and listening to the sermon. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What does it mean that Christ is a priest in the “likeness” of Melchizedek (cf. vs. 15)? List some ways in which Christ is like and yet distinct from Melchizedek.

3. Describe the significant elements of Christ being a priest forever. As those that have been saved, do we still need a priest? How does the eternal nature of Christ’s priesthood impact our eternal state (cf. Revelation 1:17-18)?

4. Explain the meaning of Christ being greater than the Law? What is the Law (cf. Exodus 20:1 – 21:13)? In what way was the Law weak (cf. Matthew 5:17; Romans 8:1-4; 10:1-4; Galatians 3:23-29)?

5. What access and hope does Christ provide those who trust in Him (cf. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18; Romans 5:1-2; Ephesians 2:18)?

6. How does the New Covenant differ from the Old Covenant (cf. Hebrews 9:1)? Read the following passages and describe the gist of the New Covenant: Jeremiah 31:31-34; Ezekiel 36:26-27; 2 Corinthians 11:25-26; Hebrews 12:24.

7. Explain what it means that Jesus is the way. Have you embraced Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life? Why did God make the gate narrow that leads to Him? List some ways in which the road leading to life is hard (cf. Matthew 7:13).
