Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Describe and define patience. Do you consider yourself a patient person? What are some areas of life in which you need to improve in patience?

3. Why is patience an important Christian characteristic? How does patience demonstrate obedience and faithfulness to God (cf. James 5:7-11; Ephesians 4:1-3)? How does patience honor God?

4. What does it mean that God is patient (cf. Exodus 34:5; Psalm 85:6; 103:8; 1Peter 3:20; Romans 2:3-4; 9:21-24; 2Peter 3;8-9)? Explain how God’s patience does not compromise His justice and holiness.

5. What are some ways in which God honors those who are patient (cf. Lamentations 3:25; Psalm 25:3; 37:34; 62:5; 130:5-8; Hebrews 6:13-15)? Describe some ways in which God has blessed you for waiting upon him. Why is it difficult for us to wait upon the Lord?

6. Read 1Timothy 1:16. How does our salvation demonstrate the patience of God? Describe how God’s patience toward us can be used as a means of witnessing to others. Take a moment to praise God for His patience toward you.
