3. Look up the word transfiguration in a Bible dictionary. What are the key concepts and ideas associated with this word? How is this word used differently concerning Christ and the children of God (cf. 2Corinthians 3:18; Romans 12:2)? What does it mean that Jesus was transfigured? Did he change (cf. Hebrews 13:8)?

4. How does the promise that Christ would be a prophet like Moses help tie this passage to Exodus 19 and 34 (cf. Deuteronomy 18:18)? What are some similarities between Moses and Christ on the mountain top? What are some differences? Why is this important?

5. Why do you think God spoke on the mountain during the transfiguration of Christ? What does that tell us about Christ (cf. Matthew 3:16-17; Hebrews 1:5: Psalm 2:7)? How did God’s voice impact the disciples who were present (cf. 2Peter 1:16-18)?
