2. What does it mean that God is invisible? Can God be seen at all (cf. John 1:18; 5:19, 37; 6:46; 14:9; Matthew 5:8; Isaiah 6:1; Psalm 95:9)? Do you think we can see God today? Do you think we will see God one day? Explain.

3. Look up the word “firstborn” in a Bible lexicon or dictionary. How is Paul using the word firstborn in reference to Christ (cf. Romans 8:29; Genesis 49:3; Psalm 89:27)? How can Christ be the firstborn and yet be an uncreated being? If others had been raised from the dead before Christ, how can he be the firstborn from the dead (cf. 1Corinthians 15:20-23)?

4. According to our passage, it pleased God for all the fullness of deity to dwell in Christ. What is the fullness of God ( cf. Colossians 2:10; Ephesians 3:19)? Give at least three reasons why it is important to understand Jesus Christ as fully divine in nature.

5. What does it mean that Christ is head of the church (cf. Colossians 2:9; 1Corinthians 11:3; Ephesians 1:22; 5:23)? What does a church (the body as a whole and its members individually) look like and act like when Christ is head? Do you think Christ is regarded and respected as the head of Macedonia Church? Explain.

6. Take time to reflect on the supremacy of Christ (cf. Revelation 5:12), the sufficiency of Christ (cf. Colossians 2:8-10), and the need to submit to his headship (cf. 1Corinthians 6:19). In what specific ways do you need to grow in your understanding and obedience to these principles?
