Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Define the idea of faithfulness. What is the significance of faithfulness being designated as a fruit of the Spirit (cf. Hebrews 12:1-2; Ephesians 2:8-9; Philippians 1:29; 1John 5:1)? Can natural, normal people produce faithfulness? How does faithfulness attest to our salvation?

3. What does it mean that God is faithful (cf. 1Corinthians 1:9; 2Corinthians 1:18)? Can God be unfaithful? Explain what it means that God is faithful to himself (cf. 2Timothy 2:13; Romans 3:3; Hebrews 6:13; Revelation 19:11)?

4. What is the significance of God being faithful to his works and word (cf. Psalm 33:4; 89:8-9; 111:7-8; 145:13)? Describe some ways in which Jesus demonstrates his role as a faithful high priest (Hebrews 2:17). How should God’s faithfulness lead to worship (cf. Isaiah 25:1)?

5. Think back through Scripture and list some of God’s promises (cf. Genesis 12:1-3; 21:1; Joshua 21:45; 1John 1:9). How should God, as a promise keeper, encourage us? How does God’s faithfulness to his promises provide us with hope and security?

6. Read the following passages and provide a few observations: 1Corinthians 10:13; 2Thessalonians 3:3; Psalm 91; John 14.
