Remembering God's Goodness

2 Samuel 12:7-8

Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What difference do you see in David from chapter 7 to what we read in chapter 12? Read both chapters and note two key principles. Why do you think David has found himself in this situation?

3. List some specific ways in which God said he was good to David. Do you think God has been good to you? If so, describe some ways in which his goodness has been shown to you. Why do you think the Lord has been good to you?

4. Why do you think people sometimes forget God’s goodness and focus instead on what they lack? Have you ever been guilty of this? How should we respond when we fail in this? How can we work to prevent this from happening in our lives?

5. According to the passage, how should God’s goodness influence our manner of life? Why should God’s goodness motivate us to faithfulness and obedience rather than complacency? List one area of your life where you need to respond to God’s goodness with greater faithfulness.

6. Why should God’s goodness to us influence our attitude and actions toward other people? What specific qualities should characterize the way Christians treat people? Who is one difficult person you need to work on showing God’s kindness, patience, or forgiveness this week?
