Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What is the difference between godly sorrow and worldly regret? In your life, when have you seen the difference between feeling bad about sin and actually repenting and turning to God? 2 Corinthians 7:10; Matthew 27:3-5

3. How does unrepentant sin affect our relationship/fellowship with God, even if it doesn’t remove our salvation? What changes when we bring sin honestly into the light before God? Psalm 32:1–5; 1 John 1:8–10

4. Why is repentance not just a one-time event (the doorway) but an ongoing pattern (the pathway) in the Christian life? What would it look like in practice for you to keep “short accounts” with God? 1 John 1:8; Proverbs 28:13

5. What does it practically mean to “put to death” sin rather than manage or excuse it? Why does it matter that our repentance matches our sin, both in who it affects and in how deep it goes in us? Colossians 3:5–10; 2 Corinthians 7:10-11

6. How does seeing repentance as a gift change the way you approach God after you sin? How can believers in a church practice repentance together in a way that leads to real godliness, deeper fellowship, and lasting change?
