Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Factions are groups of people that exclude themselves from others based on their beliefs, likes, and interests. Have you ever experienced factions (e.g., cliques)? How did being excluded from a group make you feel?

3. What does it mean that God is one (cf. Deuteronomy 4:35; 6:4)? Explain the idea of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit being undivided and in full agreement with one another. How does the nature of God invalidate factions in the church (cf. John 17:20-23, 1Corinthians 1:11-13)?

4. Do you feel factions or cliques exist at Macedonia Church? What are some ways in which we can protect ourselves from having factions? Where are some areas in the church where factions are prone to occur?

5. Read Joshua 5:1-15 and list at least three observations. What does it mean that God is not biased or partial (cf. Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11; James 2:1-9)? How should the example of God’s character change the way we regard others?

6. God has designed the church to be made up of many parts, yet one body (cf. 1Corinthians 12:12-26). What part of the body has God made you to be at Macedonia Church? Do you feel you are working in unison with the body? How are you helping the body to function properly and fulfill God’s purpose (cf. 1Corinthians 1:10; Ephesians 4:1-6)?
