Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What does it mean to be blessed by God? Do you believe God desires to bless His people (cf. Numbers 6:24-26)? Describe some of the blessings that God has given to us, according to Ephesians 1:3-14.

3. How is God present with us? Do you feel the presence of God in your life? How can we determine if God is present with us? Describe a time when you were overcome with the presence of God (cf. Genesis 26:3; 28:15; Exodus 3:12; Matthew 28:20).

4. Describe the presence of God with the early disciples. How did Jesus fulfill the presence of God with His people (cf. John 1:1-18)? What was the distinction between the Spirit being with the disciples and in the disciples (cf. John 14:16-17)? What does it mean that we are the temple of God (cf. 1Corinthians 3:16)?

5. Describe a time someone or something (e.g., a pet) protected you and how it made you feel. How should we feel that the Lord protects us (cf. Psalm 18:1-3; 27:1-3; Genesis 15:1)? How does wisdom protect us (cf. Proverbs 4:5-6)? Why does Jesus protect us (cf. John 10)?

6. Why did God promise to give Abraham a great name (cf. Genesis 12:1-3; Ezekiel 36:22)? What is the source and reason that Abraham and David have renowned names? Describe the greatness of Jesus’ name (cf. Philippians 2:9-11; Acts 4:12).
