1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Look up the topic of sanctification in a Bible dictionary and provide a definition. What are some key concepts related to this doctrine? Take the time to read some of the great confessions about sanctification (cf. 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith Article 13.1; 1833 New Hampshire Baptist Confession Article 10; Westminster Shorter Catechism Q.35).

3. What does it mean that sanctification is both positional and progressive in nature? What is the basis of our positional sanctification (cf. 1Thessalonians 5:23; 1Corinthians 1:30; Hebrews 10:14; 1Corinthians 6:9-11)?

4. Why does God desire for His people to be sanctified (cf. 1Peter 1:16)? What are some things involved with living a sanctified life (cf. 1Thessalonians 4:3-8)? How does the relationship of Christ and the church provide us a great example of sanctification’s importance (cf. Ephesians 5:25-27)?

What are some things that you may need to consider in order to grow in holiness? Take time in prayer to commit yourself to the Lord for a sanctified life.
