1. If you could not hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read Genesis 19 and compare it to our passage in Judges. What similarities do you see between the two passages? Do you think the writer intends for us to associate these two passages? Why or why not? Why do you think the writer included this story in the book of Judges?

3. Read the following passages: Genesis 18:20-21; Isaiah 1:9-10; Jeremiah 23:14; Matthew 11:20-24; 2 Peter 2:6; Jude 7; Romans 1:26-27. What impression does Scripture give with regard to Sodom and Gomorrah? State any observations you have about these Scriptures.

4. Do you consider homosexuality a sin? Do you believe the Bible adequately addresses the topic of homosexuality? Why or why not? How do your friends, family and coworkers view the issue of homosexuality? Should we be accepting of homosexuals and their lifestyle? Explain.

5. Describe the character of the Levite mentioned in our passage. What stands out to you about the way in which he treated his wife? What kind of impression do you think the writer intends for us to have of the Levite? Do you think we should expect better of him? Explain.

6. Hospitality is obviously a topic of address in our passage. What does the Bible teach about hospitality? What are some ways in which we are called to be hospitable to others? What are some ways in which you like to show hospitality? How do you need to grow in this area of life?

7. Read the following passages: Daniel 1:8; 1 Samuel 12:24; Psalm 107:43; 119:95; Romans 8:18; 1 Corinthians 1:26; Hebrews 12:3. What are some areas of consideration mentioned in these passages? Are there any areas of consideration that you are struggling with in your life? Explain.

8. Read the following passages: Deuteronomy 32:28; Psalm 1:1; 16:7; Isaiah 9:6; 11:2; Philippians 4:8; James 1:19; Ephesians 5:11-12; Zechariah 8:16-17; Proverbs 31:8-9. What does it mean to have God as our counselor? Describe a friend or somebody else that has given you good counsel in the past. What makes somebody a good counselor?
