Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s service, consider going to the church website and listening to the sermon. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read Psalm 105. How does the writer of this Psalm encourage us to consider the work of God? What stands out to you about God’s actions on behalf of His people? Share at least one great thing God has done in your life recently.

3. Read Exodus 14 and 15 and list at least three observations about the faith of Israel and the work of God. Why do you think the writer is silent about the lackluster faith of Israel? Describe the faith of Israel in crossing the Red Sea.

4. Read Joshua 5 and 6. What do you think about God’s method for causing the walls of Jericho to fall? What do you think the people of Israel thought about God’s plan? Why do you think God did things in this manner? Has God ever asked you to do something that seemed illogical? Explain.

5. Why do you think the writer of Hebrews let us know that Rahab was a prostitute? Why do you think the spies stayed at a prostitute’s house (cf. Joshua 2:1)? Does their action seem inappropriate? Do you think that was God’s plan or the spies’ choice?

6. Read Joshua 2:1-14 and 6:16-25. Do you think it was wrong for Rahab to lie to the king’s men about the spies? Is it ever acceptable to lie? Why or why not? How do we know that Rahab trusted in the Lord?
