Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s service, consider going to the church website and listening to the sermon. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What are some of your personal goals for 2023? Describe what it will take to achieve your goals. Describe some ways you can measure or evaluate your progress.

3. Have you read through the Bible? Do you think it is important for Christians to read the Bible? Why or why not? How often and how much should we read the Bible?

4. What does it mean to be an encourager? Would you describe yourself as somebody who encourages others? What are some ways we can encourage one another? What are some things Christians should encourage each other about?

5. What did the Apostle Paul mean when he instructed the Thessalonians to build each other up (cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-22)? Describe ways we can build up one another (cf. Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 3:13; 10:24)? What are some obstacles to building up one another?

6. Define love from a Biblical perspective (cf. 1 Corinthians 13). Describe love as personified in Christ (cf. John 5:12-13; 1 John 4:11-12). Do you think God really expects us to lay down our lives for one another? What does that mean?

7. Describe how the following contribute to the act of encouraging one another: prioritizing our gathering together, confessing our sins to one another, caring for one another, serving one another and honoring one another.
