1. If you could not hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What is the main problem with the people of Israel in the book of Judges (Judges 17:6; Judges 21:25)? How can we apply Israel’s problem to our lives? What can we learn from Israel’s problem?

3. Discuss the account of the battle with the Benjaminites in Judges 20 and the battle with the city of Ai in Joshua 7-8. How are these two battles alike? What are main issues in both battles? Is it possible that Israel had no compassion on the Benjaminites and went too far with their destruction of their own people?

4. Read Galatians 6:1. How are we to handle people who fall into sin? What should we learn from dealing with those who fall into sin?

5. Read Judges 20:44,46. There was a large number of men of valor who died in battle. What can we learn from the death of men of valor?

6. The Benjaminites were dismayed when they realized they were defeated (verse 36). What should be our attitude toward becoming dismayed when facing difficulties and disappointments (Psalm 30:4-8)?

7. Read Matthew 6:25-32. What challenges are we given and what encouragement are we given by our Lord Jesus Christ? How does it make you feel to know you have a Father who loves and care for you?

8. Read Jeremiah 32:26, 1 Chronicles 29:10 and Romans 5:20. What do these verses reveal about our God?

9. Read John 14:16 and Hebrews 13:5. How do these verses encourage us when we feel defeated and alone?

10.Read 1 Peter 1:3-7. What has our Lord promised us in these verses?
