Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Why do you think God allows resistance and rejection of His Kingdom to occur? How does God gain glory for prevailing over enemies of the Kingdom (Psalm 2)? What are some responses we should have to resistance to the things of God?

3. Read the parables about the Kingdom in Matthew 13:31-33 and list at least three important facts/characteristics about God’s Kingdom.

4. Read our passage and provide a summary of the passage in one sentence. What is the writer’s point? What are some key concepts that help us discern the writer’s intent? Why did God include this narrative story in the book of Samuel?

5. Why is it important to see that the kingdom and rule of David grew stronger (2Samuel 3:1)? How does this concept tie in to the promises of God in 1Samuel? What is the significance, if any, of the writer mentioning David, as opposed to the House of David?

6. What are some ways in which you see the Kingdom of God advancing today? How has the Kingdom impacted your life? How have you contributed to the Kingdom of God advancing? Pray and ask God to help you advance the Kingdom.
