Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s service, consider going to the church website and listening to the sermon. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What does it mean that faith is a gift from God (cf. Ephesians 2:8-9)? Can we have faith in God on our own? Explain.

3. Describe the significance of faithfulness being listed as a gift of the Spirit (cf. Galatians 5:22). What is our personal responsibility for faithfulness? How can we be faithful?

4. What does it mean to have hope in God? How does our hope in God differ from the world’s type of hope? Describe your hope in Christ.

5. How does our faith provide us with confidence? List some things that faith convinces us about (cf. Hebrews 11:7; 2 Corinthians 4:18).

6. Where does knowledge and understanding about God come from (cf. Proverbs 2:6 1 Corinthians 2:12)? Why is it important for God to give us knowledge and understanding about his will (cf. Colossians 1:9-10)?

7. Why does the Bible speak so much about the idea that God created all things (cf. Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16-17)? Do you believe that God created everything out of nothing? Read Psalm 148:1-6 and take some time to praise God for His creation.

8. Share something special to you about Christmas. What are some Christmas traditions that you enjoy? Describe at least one way in which we can make this Christmas glorifying to God.
