2. Consider looking at some good study bibles and reading the information provided about the book of Psalms. Sources to consider include: The Reformation Study Bible, The ESV Study Bible, The MacArthur Study Bible, and The NIV Compact Bible Commentary by John H. Sailhamer. 3. Read Psalm 1:1-6 in several translations and provide comparative insights. What does the word righteous mean? Who are some of the righteous people in the Bible (e.g., Genesis 6:9b; Genesis 15:6; Job 1:8; and 1John 2:1)? How does someone become righteous? Briefly describe the necessity and content of the gospel.

4. Read Psalm 1:1-3. What are some evidences of a righteous person? Discuss the evidence that stood out the most for you. Are you struggling with any of these characteristic? Why?

5. Read Psalm 1:4-6. Define the word wicked. List some Bible verses that describe the word wicked (cf. Genesis 6:5). List some wicked people in the Bible and describe what made them wicked (e.g., Delilah, Jezebel, Haman, Pharaoh, and Satan). Do you think the bible considers all people who reject the Gospel as wicked? Explain.

6. Read Psalm 1:4-5 and list some evidences of the wicked? Briefly describe the differences between the righteous and the wicked. Which one of the evidences of the wicked stands out most to you? Why?

7. Read verse Psalm 1:6 and discuss the two different ways of people and where each ends up? Do you think that this outcome is fair? Explain. Read Matthew 7:13-14 and describe it’s similarity to Psalm 1.
