Life Group Questions

1. If you were not able to hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Why is it important to have a high view of Scripture? What does it mean that the Word of God proves true (cf. Proverbs 30:5)? List at least three significant points found in 1 Thessalonians 2:13.

3. How does the tone and perspective of Hebrews 13:7 differ from that of Hebrews 13:17? What does it mean to remember your leaders? What specifically did these leaders do?

4. Describe somebody who impacted your life through the teaching of the Word of God? How did they challenge you and help you to grow in the Lord? Take some time to thank God for the blessing of leaders in your life.

5. Read 1 Thessalonians 1:4-7. List some good qualities the readers knew about Paul, Silvanus and Timothy. Why was it important for the readers to consider these qualities of these three men?

6. What are some things we should consider about potential and current leaders in the church? Why is it important for us to consider the “outcome of their life?” Briefly describe the relationship between a leader’s conduct and their ministry.

7. What does it mean to imitate good (cf. 3 John 11)? How did Paul challenge the Thessalonians to imitate him and others (cf. 1 Thessalonians 3:6-10)? What are some ways in which we can imitate God (cf. Ephesians 5:1-2)?

8. Briefly describe the meaning and significance of Hebrews 13:8. How does this help encourage Christians?
