2. Read 1Samuel 4-6. List some important observations concerning the ark of God.
3. What exactly is the presence of God, and why is it important to our lives (cf. Exodus 33:14; Psalm 274)? How do you know that the Lord is present with you? Is there ever a time when the Lord is not present with believers? Explain
4. Why do you think David considered it important to have the ark of God brought to Jerusalem? What did the ark of God represent (cf. Exodus 25)? How was the ark to be transported, and why was that important?
5. Why is obedience such an important element of the Christian life (cf. 1Samuel 15:22; James 1:22)? How does obedience demonstrate and testify to our love of God (cf. John 14:15)? Is obedience to God a significant consideration in your life and practice? Explain the differences between obedience and legalism.
6. What does genuine worship look like (cf. John 4:24)? Do you think there is “worship” that God does not accept (cf. Matthew 15:8-9; Amos 5:21-24)? Why is it important for us as Christians to be different from the world (cf. Romans 12:1-2)? What are some specific areas we must be careful not to let the world influence us?
