Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What observations do you notice in Matthew’s account of the triumphal entry? How is Jesus the Passover Lamb (cf. John 1:29, Hebrews 10:10-12)? What is significant about the event that is taking place?

3. Read the other gospel accounts of the triumphal entry (cf. Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:29-40, John 12:12-19). What similarities and differences do you notice about this event?

4. How does Jesus show his humility in this event as well as other times in His ministry (cf. Luke 2:7, John 13:4-5, Matthew 8:20) ? What does hilippians 2:5-8 tell us about Christ’s humility? As believers what have we been called to put on (cf. Colossians 3:12)?

5. The crowds were shouting “Hosanna” as Jesus came into Jerusalem. Why is Jesus worthy of this kind of praise (cf. Psalm 118:25-26, Psalm 98:1-3, Exodus 15:2, Psalm 18:3, Revelation 4:11, 5:12)?

6. Jesus came into Jerusalem riding on a donkey. What differences do you notice about Jesus’ first coming and John’s account in His second coming (cf. Revelation 19:11-16)?
