Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What does it mean that God is light (cf. 1John 1:5; Psalm 104:1-2)? How should God being light impact the way we live (cf. 1John 1:6-9)? Explain why it is important to remember that God is the only source of true light (cf. Psalm 36:9; Revelation 21:22-23)?

3. If God is light, and the only source of light, how can Jesus say that Christians are the light of the world (cf. Matthew 5:14-16)? What is the difference between being the light and being the light of the world (cf. John 1:6-8)? How did we become the light of the world (cf. Ephesians 5:7-8; Colossians 1:12-14; 1Thessalonians 5:5-6; 1Peter 2:9)?

4. Why do you think God wants us to share the light (cf. Romans 10:1-15; 2Corinthians 5:17-19)? How does our light differ from the world (cf. Philippians 2:14-16)? What are some spiritual disciplines that will help us share the light in a fallen world (cf. 1Peter3:15)?

a. Your Attitude (Philippians 2:5-8)
b. Your Words (Ephesians 4:29)
c. Your Actions (1John 3:18)
