2. Describe one of the best experiences of victory in your life. It could be a personal accomplishment, spiritual warfare, sporting event, or anything that stands out to you as a major experience of victory. How did victory in that situation make you feel?

3. What does it mean that God is victorious? What is the difference between God’s acts of victory and his nature of being victorious? How does God’s victory differ from our own?

4. The Bible teaches that God alone is victorious (e.g., Jonah 2:9; 98:1)? Are there times when God is not victorious? How do we account for sin and the works of Satan if God is victorious? How is God victorious even when things don’t go according to justice, mercy, and holiness?

5. What are some things that we often turn to for victory in place of God (cf. Psalm 44:6-8; Lamentations 4:17; Isaiah 45:20-21; 47:12-13)? How can we overcome the temptation to seek victory in things other than God?

6. Describe the victory God gives to his people through Christ. Read the following passages and note some thoughts that come to mind for you: 1John 5:4-5; John 16:33; 1Corinthians 15:56-57; Romans 8:31-39; Colossians 2:15; 1John 4:4.
