2. What comes to mind when you think of the idea of forever? What are some things that people think are forever, but actually are not? Do you feel comfortable thinking about eternity?

3. Why should the promise of God’s eternal kingdom give us security? What is the difference between the kingdom of earth and the kingdom of heaven? Describe some reasons as to why God’s everlasting kingdom provides us with peace (cf. Isaiah 9:7; Psalm 145:13; Daniel 4:34; Colossians 1:13; 2Timothy 4:18).

4. How is the kingdom of heaven like a treasure (cf. Matthew 13:44)? How do people respond to treasures? What should the preciousness of God’s kingdom cause us to do (cf. Matthews 6:33)?

5. Describe the scope and extent of God’s authority (cf. Job 42:2)? Do you believe God is exercising his authority today? If God is in control and has all authority, why do we see things occurring that are contrary to his ways? Consider the following: Isaiah 6:1; 66:1; Psalm 2; 47:8.

6. What confidence do we have in the word of God (cf. Psalm 119:89; 160)? How did Jesus view the word of God (cf. Matthew 5:17; 24:35)? What are some ways in which we can improve with rightly handling the word of God (2Timothy 2:15)?
