2. Why do you think the writer chose to place five psalms at the end of the book of Psalms that focus on praise? What is the significance of each of the last five psalms beginning and ending with a command to praise the Lord?
3. Define the idea of praise. What does it mean to praise the Lord? How is praising the Lord different and yet related to the ideas of worshipping and blessing the Lord? What are some ways in which you need to grow in praising the Lord?
4. How should the idea of being commanded to praise God impact our attitude and actions? Does encouraging a person who is struggling with depression or the effects of trials seem unrealistic (cf. Ps. 42:11; 71:13)? How can we be more faithful at praising the Lord at all times (cf. Ps. 34:1-3)?
5. What are some ways in which we can praise the Lord with our lives? Describe somebody you have known or know that did well at praising the Lord with their life. Do you think that God really expects us to consume our lives with praising him? Explain your thoughts.
6. List and describe some of the reasons why we should praise the Lord. What are some specific things the Lord has blessed you with recently? Take some time to praise the Lord for how he has blessed you.
