November 2, 2025 - The Fruit of the Spirit: Faithfulness (2)

Galatians 5:16-25

Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Why is it important to understand that faithfulness is a fruit of the Spirit and not a work of the flesh? How does thinking that faithfulness is a work of the flesh dishonor the work of God? How does thinking that faithfulness is a work of the flesh lead to pride?

3. If faithfulness is a fruit of the Spirit, why does God hold us accountable for not demonstrating faithfulness (cf. Deuteronomy 7:1-9)? How does the fruit of faithfulness relate to the promise of the New Covenant (cf. Jeremiah 31; Ezekiel 36)?

4. Provide comments about the faithfulness God expects with respect to the following:
A. Love (Deuteronomy 6:1-5; Joshua 22:5; 23:11; Psalm 31:23):
B. Trust (Proverbs 3:5; Psalm 37:3; 62:8; Isaiah 26:1-4; Mark 5:36):
C. Obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1; 1Samuel 15:22; Jeremiah 7:21-23; Acts 5:29):
D. Devotion (2Corinthians 11:3; Exodus 20:1-2; Matthew 6:24):
E. Worship (Exodus 34;13-14; Joshua 24:14-15; Romans 12:1):
F. Remembrance (Deuteronomy 8:18; Proverbs 3:6; Ecclesiastes 12:1)

5. How should knowing God delights in our faithfulness encourage us to be faithful (cf. Proverbs 12:22)? Have you been faithful with what the Lord has entrusted to you (cf. Matthew 25:14-30)? If Christ returned today, would he find you faithful (cf. Luke 18:8)?
