Galatians 5:16-25

Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read Psalm 119:68 and discuss the two aspects of God’s goodness described in this passage. How does God’s character affect his acts and actions? How does God’s goodness differ from man’s?

3. What does the writer mean by stating God’s creation was very good (cf. Genesis 1:31)? How and why does this statement differ from the previous statements in Genesis 1 (cf. Genesis 1:4)? Do you think God still sees his creation as good? Explain.

4. How does God’s creation declare his goodness (cf. Psalm 19)? What are some of your favorite parts of God’s creation? How can we use God’s creation to promote his beauty and goodness (cf. 96:3)?

5. What were some of God’s glorious deeds that caused Israel to praise Him (cf. Exodus 15:1-11; Psalm 40:5)? What are some of the great works God has done in your life? Describe some ways in which God has shown his goodness to you through blessings (cf. James 1:17; Psalm 31:19; Lamentations 3:22).

6. Read Titus 3:1-7. What is the ultimate expression of God’s goodness? What does it mean that Christ is the goodness of God? How has God’s faithfulness revealed His goodness (cf. 1Corinthians 10:13; 1Thessalonians 5:23-24; 2Timothy 2:13; 1John 1:9; Revelation 19:11)?
