2. What does it mean to be kind? Describe a person you know who is kind. What is it about their actions and attitude that makes you think of them as kind? Do you think other people see you as kind? Explain.
3. Do you think most people are kind? Why or why not? Why do you think that some people are not kind? How does expressing kindness possibly make us feel inferior or vulnerable to others?
4. What does it mean that God is kind (cf. Psalm 145:17; Micah 7:18)? How is God’s kindness used to encourage repentance (cf. Romans 2:3-4)? How does God’s kindness relate to his grace (cf. Ephesians 2:1-9)? What does it mean that Christ is the embodiment of God’s kindness (cf. Titus 3:3-7)?
5. Describe the meaning of putting on the kindness of God (Colossians 3:12; Micah 6:8). Describe some ways in which the people of God can show kindness to each other (cf. Ephesians 4:32). Read Luke 6:32-36 and list two observations about kindness.
6. Consider the story of Joseph and his brothers and read Genesis 50. How did Joseph show kindness to his brothers? What do you think helped Joseph show kindness instead of taking vengeance? How did Joseph view his life circumstances in relation to God?
