Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What thoughts come to mind when you think of the church of God? Why is the church important to God? How important is the church to Christians?

3. How does the meaning of the Greek word for church ekklesia (“called out ones”) help us identify the makeup of the true church? What does it mean to be a member of the church and how does that happen?

4. Why do you think many people associate the church with a physical building rather than a group of people? Should we associate the building with the church? What is the danger of placing too much emphasis on the physical structure (i.e., building) as the church?

5. How do you know if you should join a church? What are some key things that a church should do or provide for its members? Do you think membership at Macedonia Baptist should be available to all or have some kind of requirements?

6. What are some aspects of Macedonia that make it a healthy church? In what areas do you think that Macedonia could become a better church?
