1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read Psalm 115:3; Isaiah 46:9-11; Job 42:2; Amos 4:7; 2Chronicles 20:6. According to these verses, how would you define the sovereignty of God? Name some examples of the sovereignty of God from Scripture.

3. Read 1 Samuel 1:1-28. Discuss the sovereignty of God in the life of Hannah. What are some of the key points in the life of Hannah that helps you understand the sovereignty of God?

4. Read 1 Samuel 3:1-20. How would you define the call of God in the life of Samuel? How would you define the call of God in your life? Discuss some of the results of the call of God in your life.

5. Since we have studied the life of King Saul for months, what are some of the consequences of his sin? What are some lessons from King Saul’s failures we need to avoid?

6. In thinking through the study of 1 Samuel, discuss the contrast in leadership between Samuel and Saul.
