Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What does it mean to be blameless (cf. Deuteronomy 18:13-14: Psalm 119:1; 1Timothy 3:1-3; etc.)? Do you think a person can be blameless before God (cf. Genesis 6:9; Job 1:1, 8, etc.)? Would you consider yourself to be blameless? Explain why or why not.

3. Describe what Achish saw in David’s character. How do you think David’s life impacted Achish? How did Achish differ from the other Philistine rulers?

4. Why is grumbling and complaining a sin? What are some of the consequences of grumbling (cf. Philippians 2:14-15)? Do you struggle with complaining? What are some things we can do to limit our complaining?

5. Do you think David was actually going to fight with the Philistines against Israel? Would David have been wrong to fight against Israel? Do you think God had a part in keeping David out of the battle? Explain.

6. Read Genesis 20:16 and Numbers 22. Describe God as the preserver of our blamelessness. Have you ever felt as though God had kept you from sinning? If so, how did He do that; what were the circumstances?
