1. If you were not at this week’s service, consider going to the church website and listening to the sermon. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. What thoughts come to mind when you hear the word ministry? Does it seem strange that Christ had a ministry (cf. 8:6)? What does the writer mean that Christ has obtained a more excellent ministry?

3. Describe your understanding of the difference between the designations Old and New Covenant to Old and New Testament. What is the difference between the Old and New Covenant? Briefly state the New Covenant (cf. Jeremiah 31; Ezekiel 36).

4. What was the purpose of the Law in the Old Testament (cf. Galatians 3:19-22)? How has Christ served us better than the Law (cf. 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 7:23-25; 9:15; 12:24)?

5. List at least three important points about the writer stating that Christ is seated in heaven. How does Christ’s position demonstrate his authority (cf. Mark 14:61-62; 1 Peter 3:22; Ephesians 1:20-23; 2:4-6; Colossians 3:1-4)?

6. Describe the difference between the earthly and heavenly tent (cf. Hebrews 9:11-24). How do the earthly things compare to the heavenly?

7. Describe some results of Christ’s ministry that surpass those of the Old Testament priests. What are some promises of Christ that give you hope (cf. Romans 8:1-4; John 10:27-30; 14:18-20; 1 John 3:2; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)?
