Life Group Questions

1. If you were not at this week’s service, consider going to the church website and listening to the sermon. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. When reading through the text, what observations did you notice? How does the writer compare and contrast Christ and earthly priests? How often did earthly priests sacrifice as opposed to what Christ did (cf. Hebrews 7:26-27; 10:10)?

3. What does this text show us regarding the completeness of Christ’s work (cf. John 19:30)? What does the writer tell us about the posture and position of Jesus, and what does this represent (cf. Mark 16:19; Hebrews 1:3; 12:2)?

4. Where is Christ now (cf. John 14:1-28; 20:7; Ephesians 2:6; Hebrews 9:28; Revelation 1:7)? If Christ is in heaven how is He also said to be in the Christian’s heart (cf. Ephesians 3:17; Romans 8:10; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 1:27; 1 John 3:24).

5. What does it mean in verse 13 that Christ’s enemies will be made a footstool for His feet (cf. Psalm 110:1; Ephesians 1:22; Psalm 8:6; Philippians 2:9-11)?

6. Verse 14 tells us that Christ’s offering has perfected those who are sanctified? Does this perfection refer to our current state or something to come? How long does this perfection last?

7. What does the sacrifice of Christ do in reference to the New Covenant? What blessings are provided with the New Covenant (cf. Jeremiah 31:31-34)?

8. Take time this week to spend time with your family and reflect on the blessings that the Lord has given you.
