1. If you were not able to listen to this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Read Hebrews 2:10-18. What observations do you notice as you read? What characteristics or attributes does the writer give us regarding Jesus?

3. The writer gives us several references to Christ’s incarnation (verses 14, 17). What is significant about this reference? Why do you think the writer gives us this thought about Christ?

4. How is Jesus the Founder (a person who creates or establishes something) of your salvation? What did He do to make this possible for you (cf. Hebrews 2:10, 5:9, 12:2)?

5. From the beginning of the book of Hebrews, what has the writer been comparing Jesus to (cf. Hebrews 1:4, 7-8, 13-14, 2:5, 16)? What conclusion have you seen in the writer’s comparison between Jesus and angels?

6. According to verses 14-18, what has Jesus done for His children? How is He your deliverer (cf. Psalm 18:2, 34:4, 17-19)? In what ways has Jesus been your helper (cf. Psalm 118:6-7; 54:4, Isaiah 41:13)? Read Psalm 121 and describe how it provides us with encouragement and help.

7. Verse 17 tells us that Jesus is a “merciful and faithful high priest.” What was the purpose of the high priest (cf. Hebrews 5:1)? How is Jesus different from the high priests chosen amongst men (cf. Hebrews 5:5, 8-10)? How does He sympathize with us (cf. Hebrews 4:14-15)?
