Life Group Questions

1. If you could not hear this week’s sermon, consider going to the church website and listening to it. What main ideas did you gain from the message? Do you have any questions?

2. Describe how God used Abraham and Sarah’s weakness to demonstrate His power (cf. Hebrews 11:11-12). Why do you think God waited so long to fulfill His promise to this couple? Do you ever struggle with waiting on God? Explain.

3. What weaknesses do you struggle with in your personal life? Do you find difficulty accepting your weaknesses as an opportunity for the manifestation of God’s Glory (cf. 1 Corinthians 1:26-29; 2 Corinthians 12:7-10)? Take time to pray and ask God to help you rely upon His strength instead of your own.

4. Read the following passages relating to God’s choice and calling of David: 1 Samuel 16:10-12; 17:28-39; 1 Chronicles 17:7-8, 16. How should we apply this teaching to our own lives? What impresses you most about God’s dealing with David?

5. Read Exodus chapters 3-4. What weaknesses did Moses display, and how did God regard those weaknesses? How did God encourage Moses to overcome his shortcomings? How does God intend for us to overcome weakness?

6. Why do you think the writer informs us that Ehud, from the tribe of Benjamin (“son of right hand”), was left-handed? Search and describe how the Bible views “left hand” versus “right hand” (cf. Psalm 16:8; Psalm 110:1; etc.). How did Ehud deal with his weakness?

7. The story of Ehud is much more detailed than the previous judge, Othniel. Why did the writer add so much detail? What are some aspects of the story that stand out most to you? Note any significant observations you have about this passage.

8. Read the following passages and describe how God worked through Christ should encourage us: Zechariah 9:9; Isaiah 53:3; 1 Corinthians 1:18; 1 John 5:4.
